Week 3-Art Activity- Drawing
- Was it fun? Frustrating? Do you like to draw? Will you ever try again?
At the beginning it was a bit frustrating because I have no experience in drawing at all. I do enjoy drawing little doodles or sketches and find this helps me release stress. I had no clue where to start and if I would re-start, I would go back to redo it and realized I wanted to start over again. I kept being acting like this for a few days until a classmate asked me if I wanted to join a zoom call. I started to feel better as we talked while showing each other how we would improve our drawings. I would do this again even though it frustrates me. In a sense, I am able to distract myself from my day to day life.
- Do you think if you practiced for 100 hours, or 1,000, that you would get a lot better?
I believe that practicing would help dramatically, but I would need to learn the basics first. I would need to learn/study to understand how to draw properly. Once I gain this information I would be able to apply all the new knowledge to my drawings.
- What is your major? Can you think of ways that simple sketching could be useful in your major?
My major is Business Management. I will be able to have the abilities to create a new product’s design or improve the said item. I would design new logos for companies and even draw out the arrangement of new offices. When taking notes I would use small sketches to remind me of the main focus, along with being able to use these in diagrams.
- Is Drawing a Language? Can we say things with drawings that are hard to say with words?
Drawing could be considered a language because just like other languages you are able to speak/express yourself through your picture. I know I will be able to understand a topic better if I am exposed to an image. In images you are able to visually see what a person is feeling without the need for words.
